Zelensky wants ‘irreversible defeat’ of Russia – War in Ukraine

The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, showed this Sunday confident that it is possible to inflict an “irreversible defeat” on Russia later this year and again rejected any peace negotiations that do not recognize Kiev’s main demands.

Speaking in Berlin after a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Zelensky began by thanking the “fantastic solidarity” of the host country, which the day before announced a new military aid package of 2.7 billion euros to Ukraine, the largest since the start of the war, and said that continued Western support was crucial to speeding up the end of the conflict.
