ZDF thriller today with a fast-paced chase

A convicted murderer is allowed to attend his mother’s funeral. He uses the opportunity to escape. Shortly thereafter, a bicycle courier dies. Now “A strong team” is required. The commissioners are investigating for the 92nd time on ZDF.

Their 92nd case leads the proven investigator duo Otto Garber and Linett Wachow (Florian Martens and Stefanie Stappenbeck) into the world of bicycle courier services. In Berlin they deal with a delivery service that exploits its employees. A young woman protests against the poor working conditions. Then she is killed. Garber and Wachow are actually busy with the case of a fugitive murderer.

ZDF shows the thriller “A strong team” with the subtitle “Courier to death” this Saturday at 8:15 p.m. The screenplay was once again penned by author Leo P. Ard and directed by Johannes Grieser. The ZDF media library has been showing the case for a week.

The frontier world of bicycle couriers

The killed bicycle courier is called Bahira and comes from Syria. For two years she worked for the food delivery service “Ikarus”. She had a dispute with her boss Ron Williams (Hyun Wanner) about payment. And because Williams wants to sell the store, he has absolutely no interest in negative headlines. Could that have been a motive for killing Bahira?

Garber and Wachow also follow the last customer Bahira delivered. He is said to have followed the young woman. During interrogation, Garber finds it difficult to control himself.

The investigator duo also has their colleague Sebastian Klöckner (Matthi Faust) hired undercover as a courier driver. He brings another possible motive into play on his first day at work: Bahira recently had a new boyfriend. Student Mark (Anton Rubtsov), also a bicycle courier at “Ikarus”. Was Bahira’s ex-boyfriend Jörn (Vincent zur Linden) jealous? In any case, his fingerprints can be found on the murder weapon.

And then the Bahira case suddenly gets a connection to the case of the fugitive murderer Benedikt Lauber (Tobias Oertel). Accompanied by two officers, he was allowed to attend his mother’s funeral. He manages to eliminate the cops and escape. An accomplice helped him. He was also a customer of “Ikarus” and had himself supplied.

In the meantime, Sputnik (Jaecki Schwarz) is under stress in the police station: Garber’s ex-People’s Police colleague from the GDR days is also doing a delivery service: snacks to order. The boss Reddemann (Arnfried Lerche), who is always so tight-lipped, is also a topic of conversation in the team.
