As the demand for electric vehicles continues to grow, more and more big players in this segment are offering their EVs. To join this league, Yamaha has introduced its EMF electric scooter, which is ready to go on sale in the Taiwan market. This is Yamaha’s second electric scooter after the new EMF (EC-05), which was first introduced globally in 2019. At the same time, Yamaha EMF is also offered in three color options including Dark Black, Dark Green and Light Blue.

It is worth noting here that the new Yamaha EMF is also the second electric vehicle to be developed in collaboration with Taiwanese battery and tech giant Gogoro. You may recall that Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two wheeler player, has also partnered with Gogoro for its upcoming electric vehicles.

Equipped with some new features, Yamaha’s new EMF electric scooter seems to have been built on an entirely new DNA, sporting a completely fresh design. Minimal front apron design and vertically stacked twin pod headlight cluster gives it a futuristic look. Some other highlights on the scooter include afterburner-style dual LED taillights, trendy rear view mirrors, digital instrument console, single piece seat and beefy tire profile.

Some of the key features of the scooter include its connectivity features, such as final parking location, turn-by-turn navigation, apart from that it can be turned on/off using NFC card. It also includes a small storage space in the center of the floorboards.


Update on speed and power


The new scooter gets a mid-mounted electric motor, which is rated to generate 10.30 PS of maximum power and 26 Nm of peak torque. At the same time, this scooter is capable of catching a speed of 50 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. Though the company has not yet revealed the top speed of the scooter, it is expected to be around 80-100 kmph.
