Xbox Series X, not even the version of Gucci is saved from touts

The feeling was in the air and eventually, by wandering around online, our worst nightmares came true. Xbox Series X in the Gucci version has already ended up in the hands of touts, who are (guess what) reselling it at a higher price. The situation was obviously easy to predict, considering the extremely limited edition of the console and its peculiarity.

Announced during the celebrations of the twenty years of the brand of Microsoft dedicated to gaming, Xbox Series X by Gucci is a very particular console: sold complete with embroidery inspired by the famous fashion house and themed bag, about 10,000 units of the machine had been produced worldwide, with a selling price in Italy of 7,000 euros. The console was clearly sold out all over the world (it was only sold in the brand’s stores) and in a short time some machines appeared instantly on sites like StockX.

The lowest asking price on StockX is 20,000 Euros. The last sale settled at 15,514 Euros but the requests are quite different and there is a very wide range of prices. It starts from 16,000 euros for the lowest and it goes up to over 2 million Euros for the highest. The rarity of the piece, however, is ascertained: up StockX in fact only 13 consoles are available in this edition and considering the purchase price, in the end we are talking about pure collecting.

Definitely the Xbox Series X by Gucci was not an object intended for everyone, already from the initial cost and above all from the target of the product. However, it remains a shame to see how the secondary market for consoles, even in this case, manages to be fed. Even from a particular object, extravagant and a lot, very foreign to the world of video games.
