World Banknote Championship: four contestants have already entered

Again holds the World Banknote Championship – actually an international banknote beauty contest – was founded in 1961 by the International Bank Note Society (IBNS). You can enter the tournament by the end of January with new banknotes issued in 2021.

So far there are four denominators_

  • the Omani is semi-real
  • the British 50 pounds
  • the Scottish 50 pounds
  • 200 rials in Saudi Arabia.

Last year, the 100-peso banknote of the Central Bank of Mexico became the first to depict Juana Inés de la Cruz, Mexico’s national heroine and poet, among others. Butterflies can also be seen on the back of the banknote.

The 2019 banknote battle was won by Aruba’s 100 florinas banknote, in 2018 the Canadian $ 10 made of plastic came in, and a year earlier the Swiss 10 franc came in first.
