Winning at the Dutch GP, Max Verstappen is getting stronger at the top of the standings

DAPURPACU – Max Verstappen managed to finish the resistance of the other racers smoothly at his ‘own home’ in the Dutch GP series at the Zandvoort Circuit, last Sunday (4/9).

The slick game supported by the strategy of the team was able to bring Max’s 10th win so far this season, making his position firmly at the top of the 2022 F1 world title competition.

Sri Adinegara, Market Development Director of PT ExxonMobil Lubricants Indonesia praised Max Verstappen’s performance at the Dutch Grand Prix, for being able to return to the podium in front of his fans.

Overall, Adinegara appreciates the performance of the team and also the two Red Bull Racing drivers who have shown their maximum abilities while on the track.

“Of course the victory this time was not easy with so much pressure from the fans who filled the stands. The implementation of the right strategy from the team is also influential, as well as the performance of the RB18 car at the Zandvoort Circuit which is very competitive,” he added.

Thanks to these results, he is optimistic that this winning trend can continue to be able to confirm Max Verstappen as the 2022 F1 World Champion.

However, he continued, anything can happen, for sure the Red Bull Racing team will focus on their best performance again at the Monza GP next week.

“Hopefully the whole team can maintain this winning spirit,” added Adinegara, in a written statement, Monday (5/9).

On the other hand, Verstappen admitted that the race this time was quite interesting and not an easy race at all. Apply the right strategy, in the end everything goes well.

In fact, he thought that his rival was very quick to use tires with a harder compound type, and this was completely unexpected.

“This makes it more difficult for us (lap after lap) because we are not compatible with the hard compound tires,” he said after the race.

After starting from pole position, he was able to maintain the pole position for 72 laps, even though he was taken over by a rival at the last pitstop due to the Safety Car.

However, thanks to the use of soft tires in the remaining 12 laps managed to reclaim the position to win the race. In fact, he had achieved the fastest lap with a notch 1:13,652 seconds.

“We managed everything quite well and the strategy was right in the pits, the team’s performance here and at the factory was outstanding,” said Verstappen.

“It’s always special to win a Grand Prix at home, but this year I have to work even harder to achieve it. It’s great to be able to win again in front of an audience. We have great support here and I am proud to be Dutch,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Sergio Perez appreciated his partner’s extraordinary victory. But he admitted that the race was less exciting because he was not on the podium.

The Mexican racer had problems with tire erosion at the beginning and the second time he changed tires, and it was difficult to get the balance he wanted.

“Not to mention the hectic race due to the incident in the pits. But I was lucky that the front wing was not damaged when it hit the wheel gun,” said Perez.

Despite being constrained during the race, Perez admitted that he was quite satisfied that he could still add points in the 2022 F1 World Champion competition standings.

“There’s a lot to learn from this race and a lot to understand from our side in order to be even stronger at Monza,” he said.

Currently, Verstappen has 310 points and is firmly in the top position. While Perez in third position has 201 points which was shifted again by Charles Leclerc with similar acquisitions of 201 points. [dp/MTH]
