Whether the expansion of the Pancevo bridge is possible in order for trams to travel through it, the feasibility study of the reconstruction will show, for whose making it is Directorate for construction land and construction of Belgrade announced a tender. As stated in the documentation, the City planned to cross and develop tram traffic on the left bank of the Danube as part of plans to expand the tram network. The Pancevo bridge is imposed as the main direction and object for this crossing.

– The subject of the study will not be the access concrete structures from the Belgrade side, whose demolition and construction of new ones is foreseen by a special project. The study should include the main steel structure, access composite structures on the Pancevo side, as well as their pillars and foundations – it is written in the documents.
By analyzing the existing constructions, it is necessary check the possibility of widening the Pancevo bridge for the needs of crossing the tram, but so that the tram traffic takes place along the main lattice girders. It is necessary to check the possibility of installing rails and tracks, but also the load-bearing capacity of existing structures due to the additional tram load.
The study, in addition to the calculation of the supporting structure of the bridge, should also contain an estimate of the value of the works.
This is not the first bridge whose construction the city leaders decided to check. Namely, the study is in progress Faculty of Civil Engineering which examines whether the Old Railway Bridge, ie its construction, could withstand an extension for one lane for tram traffic. It is also analyzed whether it is possible to expand this bridge because it was made for a single-track railway.
