Why no compensation for Gulshan-Banani-Baridhara Lake project: HC rule

The court has issued a rule to the effect that the victims of land acquisition for the Gulshan-Banani-Baridhara Lake development project in the capital will not be instructed to pay compensation as per the existing law.

Barrister Sheikh Mohammad Tariqul Islam, counsel for the petitioners, said this on Monday.

The victim said. After hearing the writ petition in favor of 63 people including Lehajuddin, Justice Md. Khasruzzaman and Justice. The High Court bench comprising Iqbal Kabir issued the rule.

The writ petition has named the Secretary of the Ministry of Land, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka, Additional Deputy Commissioner (L.A. Branch), Land Acquisition Officer of Dhaka and Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK) as defendants.

He has been asked to respond to the rule within four weeks.
