Why I’ve been using an iPhone for 13 years and I’m not considering switching to Android

Despite the very good options available, I have never considered trading my iPhone for an Android smartphone and here are my reasons.

I have never used an Android smartphone as my main device and the truth is that I do not regret anything. Since 2010 I have been using an iPhone as a smartphone and I have never considered making the switch to the competition of Google. And the reasons are countless, from a very satisfactory user experience to an investment of years in accessories.

If something works, don’t touch it

And iPhone has never failed me and for that reason I have never found reasons to switch to another brand. The few times that I have had a problem it has been solved quickly, like when my iPhone 5 was exchanged for a new one a few days after buying it due to a problem with the unlock button.

Any software problem is fixed in a matter of days and I’ve never come across anything it can’t do. Besides, I have gotten used to many things only available on the iPhone, such as AirDrop, iMessage or FaceTimethat I use daily and that it would be very difficult for me to lose.

An iPhone offers a lot to want to change it for an Android

The Apple ecosystem has not stopped growing around me

The iPhone 4 was my first Apple device, but for 13 years the ecosystem of apple products has not stopped growing around me. Two MacBooks, three iPads, two Apple Watches, two AirPods and many different iPhone models have been with me all this time and the synchronization between all of them is unique.

Really, there is no company in the market capable of offering an ecosystem as connected as Apple. And that makes it tricky to switch from an iPhone to Android, since you’d have to switch a lot of these devices that don’t have an alternative that works as well together.

Apple devices are more useful than you may think

Investment in apps, services and accessories

So many years together with an iPhone has made the investment made around it great. From apps and games you would have to buy again even subscriptions to services that we only have at Apple. There is currently no option on the market that offers what the Apple One offers, even with the rising prices of Apple services. With the Premium plan you can get music, series, movies, games and 2 TB of storage in the cloud for just 5 euros per person and I could be even less with the Family plan.

And that’s not to mention different accessories that are compatible with the iPhone and that will no longer be compatible with an Android smartphone, such as the large number of MagSafe accessories.

Excellent excellent customer service

Really in these 13 years there are very few times that I have had to go to Apple technical service for a problem with one of your devices. Specifically with the iPhone, I have only gone once with the aforementioned iPhone 5.

In the Apple Store you will always find someone willing to help you

Other than for that reason, I’ve also gone twice for the Apple Watch and once for a MacBook Air. AND on all these occasions the service and treatment was excellent, analyzing my problem and offering me a fully satisfactory solution. And this is something really hard to find in other brands and one more reason to stay.

There really is no reason to switch from iPhone to Android

in 13 years I have never been tempted to change an iPhone for an Android smartphone, despite the fact that there are very good ones, in some aspects even superior to the best iPhone on the market. But analyzing the whole, I don’t find sufficient reasons and I would undoubtedly lose much more than I would gain with the change.

For all this, I have never traded my iPhone for an Android smartphone, despite the fact that I have had 9 different models of iPhone during all these years. Really, it is not an option to assess for everything that would be lost along the way.
