In the past few days, many citizens have received a notification from EPS Distribution about taking over measuring devices, connecting lines and installation and equipment in metering and distribution cabinets.
Along with the notification, they also received a contract that they should sign and send to the local branch of EPS Distribution in their places. The company states that all users should sign contracts and states that this will provide users with the quality of electricity distribution.
Darko Nedović from EPS Distribution stated that all end users should sign a contract on taking over measuring devices with that company.
“By signing the contract, EPS Distribucija is taking over the connecting lines, measuring devices, measuring and distribution cabinets, equipment and installations in the measuring and distribution cabinets,” said Nedović during his guest appearance in the morning program.
In that way, as he explained, EPS Distribucija undertakes the obligation to maintain metering and distribution cabinets, connecting lines, installations, cabinets and devices within its competence.
“Users who refuse to sign the contract will be responsible for their connections. If someone is not at home or, for justified reasons, does not sign within eight days, they will be able to sign later, “Nedović pointed out.
He stated that with the notification sent by EPS Distribution, contracts were sent which precisely defined the obligations of EPS Distribution and the obligations of the users.
“The user does not have any financial obligations related to that contract and connections, when EPS Distribucija takes over them and all obligations related to maintenance, replacement of measuring devices, EPS Distribucija takes over by signing this contract,” said Darko Nedović.
He pointed out that EPS Distribucija is repairing the faults that are within its competence.
“Maintenance of installations implies replacement, control and maintenance in a way that provides users with a safe and secure power supply and correctness of measurements,” said Nedović.
As he added, the maintenance costs are borne by EPS Distribution and that will not affect the price of the electricity bill.
Darko Nedović added that EPS Distribucija does not have internal user installations and they are the responsibility of the users.
He assessed that the takeover of metering points under the jurisdiction of EPS Distribution will contribute to the fight against illegal connections and theft of electricity, and stated that the primary idea of taking over metering points is to improve the quality of electricity distribution.
