Suara.com – The investigation team on the origin of the Corona virus formed by the World Health Organization (WHO) said bats were not the source of the Corona virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic.
Responding to the statement, White House spokesman Jen Psaki said the United States government hopes to review the data included in the report.
Psaki also cast doubt on previous claims that the laboratory in the city of Wuhan was not where the virus was created.
The head of the WHO team investigating the origin of COVID-19 said bats were still a potential source and that transmission of the virus through frozen food was a possibility requiring further investigation. He ruled out the leak from the laboratory.

Psaki told reporters that the US government was not involved in planning and implementing the investigation and wanted to carry out an independent review of the findings and the data on which they were based.
Psaki added that even though the government rejoined WHO, it is very important for the US to have its own team to investigate the origin of the Corona virus.
Peter Ben Embarek, who led a team of independent experts on a nearly month-long visit to Wuhan, where the coronavirus first emerged on the seafood market in late 2019, said the team’s work revealed new information, but did not dramatically change their view of the outbreak.
The likelihood of a virus leaking from the laboratory – which is the subject of conspiracy theories – is highly unlikely and requires no further research, Embrek said.
