Which habits should you accept and which should you reject in the New Year

Every year as this current draws to a close most of us start thinking about New Year’s resolutions, rethinking everything we’ve done and what we can do to improve ourselves in the new year. Here are some tips to help you get rid of bad habits and embrace good habits in the new 2016.

How many times before the end of the year did you make big decisions that you did not adhere to at all or respected for a very short period of time? The reason for that is that we mostly plan big cuts and changes that are simply impossible to achieve. Take small steps, focus on changes and habits that may already be an integral part of your life, just improve them a little and add some new ones.

We of course have a few suggestions.

Stop blaming yourself for every little thing. People spend an incredible amount of energy and time feeling guilty and constantly questioning themselves. It’s not that bad either, but when it’s within normal limits. The most important thing in the whole story is that you don’t solve problems that way, you just waste time. Try a slightly more proactive approach to life. Don’t waste time on self-pity, but start and try to change something.

Accept yourself as you are. You are not perfect! So what, come to terms with it. We all have strengths and weaknesses, the only thing that matters is how we deal with them. Don’t think about how you are less successful or uglier than someone, but work on yourself and make yourself happy with yourself.

Exercise, meditate and eat healthy food. We don’t want to tell you to lose 20 kilograms and gain muscle, but to become at least a little more active, walk regularly, spend more time in nature, and maybe join a gym, why not? To relax, try to meditate and don’t look at it as a “sectarian miracle from the east.” Calm down, sit down, close your eyes and clear your mind only 5-10 times a day. When it comes to food, decide to eat something healthier, support local producers and buy vegetables and fruits from grandmothers at the market.

Accept your dreams. Imagination and daydreaming can never be bad in any case, so feel free to follow your goals and work on achieving your children’s dreams, no matter how banal they may seem now. You will feel much better, take our word for it.

Stop being afraid of the unknown. In the new year, indulge in risks and stop avoiding new and unknown situations from which something great may arise.

Stop being nervous about money. Again, getting annoyed can’t fix or resolve a situation but can make you incapable of really doing anything. Try to be more productive, make a business plan for the new year and cut costs.

Do things that make you feel strong and independent. This is especially true for those who have stable and beautiful relationships with a partner and family members because we often lull ourselves and rely on them to forget to do things ourselves. This year, become a little more independent, go on a trip alone, go on some new courses, meet new people and all that on your own, don’t bring your best friend or partner with you.

Get rid of pessimism and negativity. It may be difficult nowadays, but at least try to be a little more positive in the new year, let your glass always be half full, even when you seem to be in a hopeless situation. Use less expressions impossible, too hard, I won’t, I can’t.

We sincerely hope that some of our tips and suggestions will help you make the new year much more successful, happier and easier to live than this one, which is slowly but surely leaking.
