Sorin Grindeanu, Minister of Transport, announced when the suspension bridge from Brăila, which connects Brăila and Tulcea counties, should be put into use.

Grindeanu visited the site at the end of last week, and claims that the bridge should be usable by the end of next year, as provided in the contract.

“I was on the site of the Suspension Bridge over the Danube from Brăila. The bridge must be put into operation by the end of next year, as stipulated in the contract! Brăila and Galaţi counties need the support of the Government quickly, help that can come especially through the development of the transport infrastructure “, Grindeanu wrote on Facebook, according to Hotnews.ro.

The Brăila bridge will be the largest in Romania

The future bridge to be built in Brăila will have three openings: a main one (1,120 meters) and two side ones of 489.65 m on the bank of Brăila and 364.65 m on the bank of Tulcea.

The Brăila bridge will measure two kilometers and around it will be built 23 kilometers of expressway.

The respective expressway will be divided into two sections: the main road Brăila-Jijila and the road connecting with DN22 Smârdan-Măcin.

The total investment amounts to approximately 363 million euros, from the European Regional Development Fund.
