Messaging services have become our day to day. While Telegram It continues to climb in the popularity of its functions with the soon launch of its video calls in the purest professional style, WhatsApp continues to develop functions in its betas. And it is that the betas of the new versions of WhatsApp reveal many of the functions that will probably be seen in the future, although it is true that many remain by the wayside. In the last beta we can see the sticker suggestions, a form of quickly access the stickers that have to do with a word, as in iOS that correlates words with emojis on the keyboard.

WhatsApp could invoke stickers through words

The function has been baptized as sticker suggestions both internally and on the website dedicated to analyzing these betas WABetaInfo. The current state of the function is that it is under development and will reach both iOS and Android as can be seen in the code of the different versions for the operating systems in question.

The sticker suggestions work in a similar way to how matching emojis to words works on the iOS keyboard. Stickers have metadata inside that allow to be correlated with words. The easiest way to understand it is through an example. Imagine that we have stickers that revolve around the feeling of “sadness.” As soon as we write the word “sadness”, the icon of the stickers located on the right side will change so that we can directly access the stickers that are related to the word we have written, in this case “sadness” and only those that match the search will be shown.

We can check its operation briefly in a video above these lines. However there is a limitation: At the moment third-party stickers do not work with this tool. That is, all those that we create outside the WhatsApp ecosystem are not compatible with this function, at least within the beta we are talking about. However, internal sources of the app assure that they are working to be able to integrate it as soon as possible to iOS and Android and even to be able to correlate, later, emojis with stickers, taking a further step in this way of sharing this content in our conversations.
