Some even offer RAID mode, which in practice provides exceptional speeds for writing and reading data – much higher than we are used to with conventional Solid State drives.

Samsung has decided to develop a Solid State drive that will be equipped with a PCI Express 5.0 interface. This is a new generation of data interface that will be supported by both next-generation Intel and AMD processors. Samsung’s new Solid State drive (model PM1743) is based on the computer giant’s own controller and uses V-NAND TLC memory elements. The novelty could, at least in theory, offer data transfer speeds of up to 15.7 GB / s.

The new Solid State drives with the PCI Express 5.0 data interface will not be exactly energy efficient. Up to 25 watts of electrical power are expected to be used here at full load. Samsung is expected to offer the first Solid State drive with PCI Express 5.0 data interface for sale in the second quarter of next year. However, we are convinced that the competition will do the same.
