Two surface and fourteen underground stations will be built on the section from Zeleznik to Karaburma, and works on the first phase will begin by the end of the year.. A competition has been announced for the design of 16 stations on this section, and JKP Belgrade Metro and Train and the Secretariat for Public Transport of the City of Belgrade have announced a functional and architectural project of the future appearance of the stations within the tender documentation.
The planned surface stations are Železnik and Makiš, and underground: Žarkovo, Bele vode, Trgovačka, Požeška, Banovo brdo Park, Ada Ciganlija, Sajam, Mostar, Savski trg, Trg Republike, Skadarlija, Dunav, Pančevački most and Karaburma.
The works in the competition will be evaluated on the basis of the achieved aesthetic level, architectural solution and design in terms of branding of the Belgrade Metro, then, urban qualities of the solution, choice of materials, conductivity, the deadline for submission is December 14, and the results will be announced on December 29.
The first line will be about 21.1 km long with 21 stations and will be located on the Makiš-Mirijevo stretch. The first metro line in the zone of Makiško polje is planned on the terrain in the length of about 2.1 km, and after the station Makiš it was led underground to Mirijevo. Metro line 1 is planned in the direction: Železnik – Makiš – Žarkovo – Bele vode – Trgovačka – Požeška – Park Banovo brdo – Ada Ciganlija – Sajam – Mostar – Savski trg – Trg Republike – Skadarlija – Dunav – Pančevački most – Karaburma – Ada Huja – Višnjička – Mirijevski boulevard – 7th gymnasium – Mirijevo.
It is planned that the route will run in the part from the Zeleznik station to the Makish station through the space of the planned metro depot and areas in the function of traffic, and there are two stations planned on the field, Zeleznik and Makish stations. Along with the Makiš station, the start-end station of the planned BG train line is planned.
As for the part of the route from the station Makiš to the station Bele vode is planned in an open excavation (cut & cover) in the length of about 2.15 km, and the section in the length of about 11.2 km from the station Bele vode to the station Pancevacki most is planned in a deep tunnel, while the section from the station Pancevacki most to Mirijevo is planned in an open excavation (cut & cover) in the length of about 5.7 km.
