This year one of the most beloved festivals in Iași takes place on the weekend of May 19 – 21 at the Iași Airport. The Blueberry Association and Barbă Lată Events, in partnership with the Romanian Aeroclub and the “Alexandru Matei” Aeroclub Iași, are preparing the 11th edition of Hangariada.

Art, music and flight are the three pillars that the organizers have chosen to shape the festival. Hangariada means 3 days of concerts with well-known and beloved local and national artists, air shows that take place only once a year in Iasi, airplane flights, parachute jumps, exhibitions and art installations. The festival experience is completed by children’s activities, children’s play park, artisans, food and drink area.

Although we work on the preparation of the festival at least 7-8 months before, when the month of March starts the whole atmosphere in the office changes, we are easily gripped by the festival fever. The whole team is on the barricades and the details are being worked out for the Hangariada. The Iași Aeroclub is preparing parachute jumps, motor glider flights, aerobatic airplanes and recreational airplanes for this year. Registrations for aviation activities will be done through the aeroclub and will be announced on their communication channels and on Hangariada communication channels.

The air shows of the Hawks of Romania team, which take place in Iași only as part of the Hangariada, are indispensable. They will prepare a special anniversary program for Saturday. This year the crew and students from the Alexandru Matei Iași Aeroclub will hold presentations and workshops about their activity and courses.

“The “Alexandru Matei” Iași Territorial Aeroclub is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year, being one of the main pillars of what the Romanian Aeroclub means. This aeroclub has an extremely rich tradition, being the location where most national gliding championships have been held, but which has also developed in recent years. In addition to gliding and parachuting, we now have an intense activity on the ultralight aircraft side, all supported by a modernized and certified infrastructure.

On May 20 we will celebrate this beautiful age and we will be present with the Romanian Hawks – Hawks Of Romania, Blue Wings Romania and White Wings.”, stated George Rotarygeneral director of the Romanian Aeroclub, on his personal Facebook page

Tickets to the festival can currently be purchased with Early Bird Passes, worth 210 ron, on iabilet.ro. On April 3rd, day tickets and final subscriptions will go on sale. Children under 14 have free access to the festival, accompanied by a ticket-paying adult.

The partners of the festival are Aeroclubul României, Teo’s Cafe, Levi9 IT Services, Iulius Mall Iași, joined by supporters Evoluce, Fabrica de Print, Iașiting.

The Blueberry Association and Barbă Lată Events appeared with the aim of bringing quality events to the Iași public. They propose to the city two large-scale festivals commensurate with its status, Hangariada, a festival that brings together art, music and flight, and the jazz music festival, JazzCity.
