What is important to know about Antique Constraints?

An emergency situation has been declared in Latvia for three months until January 11, 2022, with the entry into force of a number of antique restrictions.

It is stipulated that people who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 or have not been ill with it are allowed to shop only in essential stores and are prohibited from visiting, for example, shopping centers. It was also decided to restrict vaccinated persons – for example, at events held in the “green” mode, additional epidemiological safety requirements will be established, that is, it is necessary to wear masks and keep a distance.

Stores that non-covid certified individuals can visit include grocery stores, pharmacies, opticians, pet food stores, press stores, hygiene stores, telecommunications stores, and gas stations. These locations will have to provide an area of 25 square meters per visitor.

In turn, working in a safe mode, you need to provide 15 square meters per visitor.

On weekends and holidays, shopping malls will only open grocery stores, pharmacies, opticians, feed stores, newspapers, hygiene stores and telecommunications stores. Service providers such as shoe repair and dry cleaning will also be available.

Anyone for whom this is possible, in both the public and private sectors, should work remotely.

During an emergency, cultural events will be held with fewer visitors – 60% of the capacity. All cultural events will be held in a “green” mode, additional epidemiological safety requirements will be established, that is, it is necessary to wear masks and keep a distance.

Full-time study, but everyone is wearing masks

Schools will continue to work in person even after the announcement of the emergency, but masks must be worn by all students, and the number of hobby classes will be significantly reduced. Extracurricular activities, such as excursions, visits to museums, are prohibited during an emergency.

The period during which students must be in quarantine has been reduced – a student can return to full-time studies if, on the seventh day after the start of quarantine, a test for Covid-19 is passed and it turns out to be negative.

This decision is due to the fact that infection with Covid-19 occurs faster in children – symptoms appear faster than in adults.

«A negative test result for Covid-19 is a “ticket” back to society, and no additional certificate from a family doctor is required“, – said the representative of the Ministry of Health Oscar Schneiders.

From now on, masks in schools should be worn by students from the age of six.

Full-time education in schools may be terminated if the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC) detects a high risk of the spread of Covid-19.

Indoor entertainment and attractions are prohibited

During an emergency, indoor entertainment and amusement services will be prohibited. The ban will also apply to water parks, recreation and entertainment centers, trampoline centers.

It will be possible to receive and provide services, including in the field of culture, organize outdoor attractions, organize and attend events, including sports, only in an epidemiologically safe environment, provided that verification of certificates of vaccination or past disease is carried out in these places. Also in these places it is necessary to wear masks, with the exception of participants in sports training and competitions.

The operation of beauty salons, trade exhibitions and outdoor attractions are allowed in an epidemiologically safe environment if, in addition to the general requirements for epidemiological safety, at least 15 square meters of space are provided for one person, and the width of the aisles between stands at the exhibition or places of service in one room is equal to at least three meters.

In addition, in these locations, it is necessary to provide a two-meter distance between individual visitors or households.

Unvaccinated people may attend private events of up to 10 people

From now on, persons without a covid certificate can gather for private events indoors for up to 10 people, outdoors for up to 20 people, provides for a government decision to declare a state of emergency and measures to reduce the incidence of Covid-19.

Unvaccinated persons will be able to receive cultural services individually or in a single household if the service provider is covid-certified and no other person is on the premises.

Services for the unvaccinated will be more accessible in the open air, in the car or on a personal vehicle.

Individuals without covid certificates can participate in indoor and outdoor religious activities, provided that at least 15 square meters of space are allocated per person and masks are used.

Also, the unvaccinated are allowed to use public transport and receive household services at the places where postal services are provided, if there is at least 15 square meters of space per person. People without a covid certificate in catering establishments can only buy takeaway food.

Reduced the opening hours of catering establishments and other places for the provision of services

From today to January 11 next year, catering establishments, entertainment, cultural institutions and churches can work no earlier than 6 and no later than 21 hours.

This restriction does not apply to places where food is sold to take away, and to the terminals of Riga International Airport.

Previously, these places could start work no earlier than 6 am and finish no later than 24 hours.

Catering services can only be provided in an epidemiologically safe environment, provided that there are no more than four people at one table, but at the same time there must be a distance of at least three meters between the tables, if there is no partition between them.
