Minimalism is increasingly on the decline

As the year 2022 has already shown, minimalizmus, which was one of the biggest hits of recent years, is somehow getting more and more in the background. This style is mainly based on simplicity and practicality.

But fine lines and colors are gradually replaced by non-traditional furniture and bold colors. Do you still remember the bold colored walls or sofas? If you are one of those who like their home decorated according to current trends, it is the right time for their return. You don’t have to worry about more extravagant elements either.

Home designers attribute this change mainly to the difficult pandemic years, which literally locked many of us in our homes. And the cold, sometimes even sterile environment is not exactly a place that would add to the feeling of well-being. Therefore, people are increasingly demanding a cheerful environment. And where can we treat ourselves to it if not where we spend the most time?

Sustainability, ecology and quality natural materials

Whether it is the choice of building materials or household equipment, words such as sustainability, ecology and harmony with nature come to the fore every year. That is why wood and stone appear again among the main building materials.

Breathing new life into an old piece of solid furniture, for example from the time of the grandparents’ life, is also a popular interior design solution.

Ornamental gardens have long since ceased to have a precisely lined appearance, but boast a “sloppy” country look. During the weekends, city dwellers escape to the countryside or nature to a greater extent. Therefore, weekend cottages or prefabricated cottageswhere one can fully enjoy a break from the everyday bustle in harmony with nature.

The big return of wallpapers

The year 2022 brought different patterned wallpapers to the fore again. And they will remain in it even during the year 2023. And their place will be where you would not expect it. Can also be placed on a closet or ceiling. The motto is – the more original the wallpaper in the most unexpected place, the better.

Actually, as soon as possible

In the past, it was no problem for anyone to wait several years for the completion of a new home. However, development projects have been coming to the fore for some time now, thanks to which interested parties can live in a new house immediately after its purchase.

And even those who embark on the path of building their own housing no longer have to wait years to move. Thanks to constantly advancing modern technologies, it is possible to move in just a few months.

Individually House projects today, they are designed in such a way that the construction can be finally completed in the shortest possible time.

Support of local suppliers and small artists

Despite the fact that we are troubled by rising prices in all areas, or perhaps in spite of this, the price is not the only decisive factor. Prioritizing quality over quantity and supporting local entrepreneurs is coming to the fore much more.

In Slovakia, we have a lot of smart businessmen and artists who are dedicated to architecture or home design.

Designer pieces have a longer lifespan, are practical, recyclable and, above all, easy to maintain. They represent the complete opposite of consumer life. One high-quality designer piece will not only add a beautiful finishing touch to your interior, but can also be a valuable legacy for future generations.

Housing trends vary from decade to decade. But it also applies to them, similar to fashion, that they come back over time with different variations or stay in the limelight for longer. It is therefore no surprise that many trends for 2023 are already known to us from the past.
