An agreement on mutual cooperation with representatives of seven associations of agricultural producers was signed. The negotiations conducted with the Government and the competent minister brought about changes in domestic agriculture.
As stated in the press release, the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture this year will amount to 120 billion dinars, because through these negotiations we will secure another 40 billion dinars.
“The budget of the Ministry of Agriculture this year will reach 120 billion dinars, of which we have over 104 billion which are intended for subsidies. I think that the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture has never been at this level in history,” said the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Jelena Tanasković.
The amount per hectare increased from 9,000 to 18,000 dinars. The government increased premiums for milk and subsidies per head of cattle. Premiums for milk will be increased from 15 to 19 dinars per liter, and subsidies per head for breeding dairy cows will be raised from 30,000 to 40,000 dinars, and payment for them will be made by applying to a public call.
One of the points of the agreement is the raising of the maximum limit of the area of arable agricultural land from 20 hectares, prescribed for exercising the right to basic incentives for crop production, to 100 hectares, starting from January 1, 2024, in accordance with the Law on the Distribution of Incentives in Agriculture and rural development.
The abolition of 50 percent of the drainage fee for the current year and the abolition of the drainage fee entirely from January 1, 2024 are also in the document. In addition to this, farmers are waiting for concessions regarding excise duties on one hundred liters of diesel per hectare for registered areas.
“The cost of 50 percent for drainage was canceled this year, with the fact that next year we will go for the complete cancellation of that levy. Next year, we will find a model for subsidizing “blue diesel”, which farmers use in production,” the minister explained.
The agreement was signed with the Initiative for the Survival of Serbian Farmers, the Association of Milk Producers “Naše mleko”, the Association of Agricultural Producers of Subotica, the Association “STIG” Požarevac, the Association “For the Rescue and Survival of Livestock Farmers of Western Serbia”, the Association of Farmers’ Associations of Banat and the Association of Milk Producers of Šumadija and Pomoravlja “Adrani” .
