What can we expect from the new Core i7-11700K processor?

In March, Intel will pleasantly surprise us with the start of sales of the long-awaited Core i7-11700K processor, which will be intended for the most demanding users. The new processor will be compatible with newer motherboards, and will use eight processor cores or 16 processor threads from 3.6 GHz to 5 GHz to recalculate data. Rocket Lake processor cores will be made using 14-nanometer technology, but will be more energy efficient. Graphics will be able to cope with the integrated Intel Xe graphics core.

The new Intel Core i7-11700K processor will also feature an advanced DDR4-3200 system memory controller, with a maximum power consumption of 125 watts. It is worth mentioning that computer enthusiasts and engineers have already tested a copy of the novelty in practice. They used an advanced motherboard with the Z590 system suite, 16 gigabytes of DDR4-3200 MHz system memory (CL14) and a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card.

The first tests of Intel’s Core i7-11700K processor showed that the novelty is slightly more powerful in practice compared to the Core i9-10900K processor and only slightly lags behind AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X processor in running games. It is also interesting that the novelty does not overheat with the default cooling system. At full load, the temperature was a maximum of 71 degrees Celsius, and the Ryzen 7 5800X processor warmed up to 89 degrees.
