Welcoming Ramadan, Jakarta Holds Jazz Festival and Eid Prayer at JIS Stadium


Suara.com – Welcoming the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a number of events ranging from jazz festivals to Eid prayers at JIS Stadium or Jakarta International Stadium.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Mental and Spiritual Education Bureau, Gunas Mahdianto, said that the series of activities in the month of Ramadan is expected to encourage the community to be more solemn in worship and improve brotherhood.

“We hope that this activity can ignite the enthusiasm of the community to continue to be more solemn in worship, increase ukhuwah, and enliven the month of Ramadan. In addition, there are also charitable activities that aim to foster a spirit of sharing among others,” said Gunas, Saturday (2/4/2022).

Gunas said, the activity was carried out in collaboration between DKI Jakarta Provincial OPD and Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) DKI Jakarta Province.

Various activities to welcome Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1443 include Muploadan Ramadan with leaders of Islamic community institutions and organizations on April 1, 2022; Ramadan Market and Jazz Festival in the form of a bazaar to stimulate MSME economic activities, as well as music and da’wah performances at Banteng Field on April 11-24 2022.

There is also a Ramadan Market Festival in every kelurahan by serving iftar meals and the production of micro and small businesses; Ramadan Special Religious Tour to feel the existence of Islamic civilization in Jakarta; a series of visits by the Governor to mosques/Islamic boarding schools, and so on.

There will also be a Takbiran Night Festival at the Jakarta International Stadium on the eve of Eid and Eid prayers the next day at the same place.
