Soya oil softens due to fall in foreign markets
Indore. Due to the fall in the foreign markets, the prices of soya oil remained soft at the domestic level. It is being told that in the coming days, the boom-slowdown will depend on the government’s decision. The nodification of futures is to be issued on December 20, if the futures start, then the phase of boom and recession will start in the market. A year and a half ago, SEBI had issued an order banning futures trading in oilseeds commodities. The ban was to continue till May 2022, though it was later extended.
Business sources say that there may be some relief from the inflation of edible oil in the coming days. In fact, a declining trend is being seen in the prices of soyabean. Experts say that soybean may roll down in the coming days. On Saturday, the price of refined soya oil had also come down to the lowest level of two and a half months. At present, if the fall in soybean continues in this way, then there will be weakness in the prices of edible oil in the future.
normal supply of sunflower oil
Sunflower oil supplies in India have started normalizing after edible oil imports from war-torn Ukraine resumed in September after a gap of four months. However, due to an agreement brokered by Turkey and the United Nations, the supply of food items from Ukraine to the rest of the world has been restored. India imports 1.9 to 2.5 million tonnes of crude sunflower oil, of which Ukraine and Russia account for about 85 per cent of the supply. In September, India imported 2,937 million tonnes of sunflower oil from Ukraine. About 3,217.8 million tonnes of edible oil was imported from Russia in the same month. Since the start of the war, Argentina has remained the country’s top supplier of edible oil. In September, 6,092.1 million tonnes of edible oil was imported from Argentina. Due to the Russo-Ukraine war, the prices of imported sunflower oil increased significantly in Mumbai markets. The price, which was around $1,400 to $1,500 a tonne before the war, increased by about 40 per cent to around $2,150 a tonne in March, April and May. In October 2022, the sunflower oil price in Mumbai markets was about $1,411, which is almost equal to the October 2021 price.
