We still don’t know what to expect from Arc and Intel is rather silent

Intel’s presentation at CES 2022 was expected with the hope that the first Arc Alchemist will finally show up in full swing, as it still holds that Intel wants to launch them this quarter. It would normally be obvious that this will be one of the main topics for CES, but now we do not know whether such a poor presentation of Intel’s new graphics reflects the overall degradation of technology fairs, or whether there is something Intel does not want to make public.

Intel thus presented its Arc at CES 2022, but certainly not in the expected style. We brought some of the information yesterday thanks to a leaked press release, according to which OEMs should already receive the first shipments of finished cards. That’s why a rich presentation was expected, but what did Intel come up with in the end?

On the one hand, he showed us some laptops and descriptors that will be sent to the world with a combination of Alder Lake mobile and “Intel Arc GPU”. Without any details and only with the promise that he will arrive “soon”.

But then it was basically just what we learned yesterday, that is, that Death Stranding and other titles will use XeSS technology as an alternative to DLSS from NVIDIA and that Deep Link / Hyper Encode technologies are ready, which can combine the performance of iGPU and dGPU for faster video processing.

And that’s all, as the abbreviated presentation from The Verge shows, which shows all the news without the surrounding ballast. So we can only hope that Intel has decided to just ignore CES in order to prepare a proper presentation for a time that he thinks will be more appropriate and that he has nothing to hide. The question is also whether we can already whistle big trade fairs such as CES or Computex, or expect their importance to increase again when companies are finally able to participate in person again.
