Watched PlayStation Showcase 2023: what hooked us

At the broadcast, Sony presented future projects for the PlayStation console. It is expected that some of the games presented will visit other platforms.

Without too much chatter and introductions, PlayStation rolled out a lot of game trailers, with an eye on the next two years. We have collected the most interesting (in our humble opinion) projects.

Ghostrunner  2

Continuation of the dynamic cyberpunk action game from the One More Level studio under the wing of the publisher 505 Games. The trailer mainly consists of cinematics, but there are also a few gameplay shots.

Phantom Blade Zero

The game does not stand out with a bright picture and rich colors, but it is distinguished by the gameplay. Presumably, it will be a Chinese version of Sekiro with steampunk elements and martial arts.

Alan Wake 2

Continuation of the mystical action-horror from Remedi (Max Payne, Control), which tells about the fate of the writer Alan Wake. The original game was imbued with the spirit of Stephen King’s books and had a lot of references to his works. Judging by the gameplay footage, there will be several protagonists.

Neva

Adventure art project from Devolver Digital in the fantasy genre. It is not clear from the trailer what the gameplay will be, but the animation presented is definitely impressive in its artistry.

Final Fantasy XVI

Exclusive from Squre Enix. Judging by the presented trailer, the sixteenth numbered part will be much darker than the previous games in the series. You will play as Clive Rosefield, the First Shield of Rosaria and the bodyguard of his younger brother Joshua, the dominant of the Phoenix icon.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater

A remake of the third part of the legendary stealth action game from Konami, created with the participation of Hideo Kojima. The gameplay was not delivered, as well as the exact release date. It is known that in August 2023 a set of remasters of the original MGS trilogy will be released.

An indie project in the metroidvania genre, made in an extremely psychedelic style.

Assassins Creed Mirage

Another part of the famous series from Ubisoft. The video shows story elements and gameplay with familiar from the series of killing targets and parkour. The game will be the backstory of Assassins Creed Valhalla and will tell about Basim’s youth.

Residen Evil 4 VR Mode

A version of Capcom’s survival horror adventure for a virtual reality headset.

Dragons Dogma 2

The sequel to the fantasy action-RPG from Capcom, the first part of which was distinguished by a mass of unique mechanics and became a kind of competitor to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at the time of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Graphically, the project does not shine, but it is worth its expectations.

Spider-Man 2

The icing on the cake was the trailer for Spider-Man 2, followed by a lengthy demo of the game. The gameplay is filled with action to the limit, which will give a head start to Hollywood films and will definitely make many ardent fans of Xbox consoles and PC owners look enviously towards the PlayStation 5. This is simply a must see.
