War in Ukraine. Russia has problems in Bakhmut: the capabilities of the Kremlin’s soldiers are limited

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine was very difficult, but “certain goals were nevertheless achieved,” Russian state news agency TASS reported.

Dmitry Peskov boasted that Moscow had badly damaged Ukraine’s “military machine”, but that its forces were working slowly because it was “not a war”.

Russia has called the military invasion of Ukraine a “special military operation” from day one.

D. Peskov said that the West made “many mistakes” and “deceived Russia”, which prompted Russia to launch an operation in Ukraine – in which, he said, the West became a participant.

He claimed that the recent drone attacks on the Kremlin were an “attempt to carry out a terrorist attack” against Russian President Vladimir Putin, and said that in doing so, Ukraine had “aligned itself with state sponsors of terrorism”.

D. Peskov stated that Russia will implement all necessary security measures after this incident.

Ukrainian officials and the United States have repeatedly denied that they were involved in the drone attack on the Kremlin.

Speaking about the arrest warrant for V. Putin issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) earlier this year, D. Peskov said:

“It is hard to imagine that anyone in the world would seriously consider issuing an ICC warrant to Putin, the head of a nuclear state.”

D. Peskov told the channel that his country is “too strong a state” to abandon its positions due to Western pressure, and said that the Kremlin will not communicate with the Western media “until it starts to be interested in the truth”.
