A small family farm from Senta, from the north of Vojvodina, has been growing the hottest peppers in the world for five years and producing hot chili sauces under the name JK’s Hot Pepper Sauce. This farm has been in existence for seven years. Cornel Juhasz, for our portal, revealed to us how difficult it is to grow these peppers and how much there is a demand for sauces.
“I came up with the idea to make sauces by being here in Serbia at the time heavy It was hard to find hot sauces, and as a fan of such, I always had to buy from abroad, so I decided to grow peppers myself. “Later, I realized that this is the only way I can provide for the whole year,” says Cornell.
Paprika seeds are mostly procured by this household from abroad, but it also cooperates with the Antić farm from Ćuprija.
“There are hundreds of species of chili peppers in the world, we have chosen about a dozen species, and they are, a couple of species Habanero, BhutJolokia, 7Pot, Jalapeno, Moruga Scorpion and of course the hottest Carolina Reaper,” adds Cornel
Currently, this farm offers six types of sauces:
- Green Jalapeno with garlic,
- Red Jalapeno
- Hot yellow – žuti Habanero i BhutJolokia sos,
- Pumpkin pie – sweet and spicy pumpkin sauce with Habanero peppers and cinnamon,
- Brown BBQ
- Extra Red – with moruga scorpion and carolina reaper paprika
Cornell says that the demand for these hot sauces cases but that the number of farms engaged in the production of hot sauces and sauces is also growing.

Asked if it is difficult to grow hot peppers, Cornell said:
“It’s just breeding does not differ a lot of ordinary peppers, and chili peppers love water, but we should be careful not to overdo it with irrigation because it significantly affects the quality and hotness of chili peppers and most importantly we should take into account that the life cycle of chili peppers is much longer than our peppers. The planting of seeds, especially the hottest ones, should start as early as the beginning of February, so that the seedlings can reach the greenhouses or open beds as early as possible. “
