Walking with the Eames, in a sneaker version

Wearable design – the sportswear brand Reebok collaborated with theEames Office to design a range of sneakers inspired by the most famous couple in design, the masters Charles e Ray Eames.

The footwear line is called Reebok x Eames Club C “Monotone Pack” (Black&White), and will be available exclusively on Eamesoffice.com e Reebok.com from October 15, ahead of a worldwide launch on October 21 at select retailers.

The Club C shoe, a dated Reebok evergreen 1985, is now reinterpreted according to the style of the Eames: among the references to the famous architects, the square logo of the Eames Office on the upper tongue, the writing ‘Eames’ on the laces and on the lining, the print Eames x Reebok on the inner sole that shows a colored triangle.

A collection that anticipates the second release Reebok x Eames Club C – “Ray Eames Signature Pack”, available in the coming months, a reproduction of a pictorial composition by Ray Eames from 1939 and the print on fabric Eames Dot from 1947.

The packaging of the footwear created for Reebok x Eames Club C Collection recalls the architectural structure of the Eames House, also known as Case Study House No.8, located in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades, an example of postwar egalitarian suburban architecture, where the Eameses lived until their death.

A novelty to put on your feet, an essential and no-frills silhouette like it functional style of the Eames, to spread step by step the unconventional spirit of the spouses who redefined the concept of design in America from the 1940s onwards and shaped the 20th century with their artistic sensitivity and innovative vision. Their motto “Take your pleasure seriously”, fun is serious business, remember that in addition to the combination of form and function there is something more, there are objects that manage to be part of our daily life, to enrich our existence and, why not, to make us smile too.
