DAPURPACU – In commemoration of World Ocean Day, Wahanians (as employees of the Wahana Artha Group) held a clean-up action on the beach of Untung Jawa Island, last Thursday (8/6).
A total of 51 Wahanians took part in the activity, consisting of several departments at WAG and employees of its subsidiary, PT Tristar Transindo (TST).
The group’s departure started from the Wahana Artha Building, which was continued by crossing with a small boat from the traditional port in Tanjung Pasir, Tangerang.
Carrying the theme ‘Clean My Sea, My Beautiful Sustainable Beach’, all participants who were divided into several groups collected all the trash around the island.
“This beach clean-up action is part of a series of activities to welcome the 51st anniversary of the Wahana Artha Group in August,” said Group Head of Corcomm, Diana Anggraini, in her official broadcast.
This action also received positive enthusiasm directly from the local Lurah, Supriadi. He also appreciated the success of the Wahanians team in collecting 510 kilograms of trash.
Diana added, this activity was classified as a unit where as many as 51 Wahanians and 510 kg of garbage collected were unexpected.
This activity was chosen because it is in accordance with Wahana’s concern program, namely caring actions to protect the environment for the sake of future generations.
Previously, a series of other social actions were also carried out by distributing 51 prosthetic legs and arms to people with disabilities at the end of last May at the Wahana Healthy Home.
“Towards the age of 51 this year, Wahana will be intensively carrying out various other social activities, especially targeting the poor and the environment,” concluded Diana. [dp/TH]
