Volunteer League leader jailed in check fraud case

Matiur Rahman Mamun (45), former vice president of Shariatpur Sadar Upazila Swachhasebak League, convicted in the check forgery case, has been arrested by Madaripur RAB-8. Later he was handed over to Palang Model Police Station.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Palong Police Station Mohammad Akter Hossain confirmed this information on Monday afternoon.

He said that Motiur Rahman Mamun was sentenced to 1 year in the check fraud case. He is a resident of East Kashavog village of Shariatpur Sadar Upazila. RAB arrested him from Shariatpur city on Sunday evening. After the accused was handed over to Palang police station, Mamun was sent to jail on Monday.
