Volkswagen will challenge Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T and Ford F150 Lightning with electric Scout!

Electric pickups and larger SUVs are the next big cash cow for the world’s car companies and the Volkswagen Group is all in with the Scout brand that was acquired with the purchase of the truck manufacturer Navistar.

This is how the Volkswagen Group’s designers think their newborn International Harvester Scout should look like.

VAG has given in for the pressure from their American dealers who nothing but wanted big pickups and mammoth SUVs. It is thus expanding its brand portfolio with a classic American brand and starting a completely new company: Scout.

The cars will be built on their own specific electric car platform, developed for these bastards. The first models are expected to be ready in 2026, but already next year we will see the first prototypes.

– Electricity gives us a historic opportunity to enter this huge and very profitable market, which shows our ambition to become a major player in the US, says CEO Herbert Diess in a statement.

Pickups are extremely popular in the US market, where they account for around 15 percent of the market. VW wants to capture at least ten percent of the entire US car market.

Volvo should also invest in a pickup!
