Slovak skier Petra Vlhová won the opening slalom of the World Cup season on Saturday. In Levi, Finland, she defeated co-Bavarian Mikael Shiffrin of the USA by 31 hundredths. Nemka Lena Dürrová finished third with a gap of 0.84.
Vlhová followed up on Levi’s success a year ago, triumphing in both slaloms at the Finnish resort last year. She has already won her 21st World Championship triumph, with a total of 46 podiums in her account. She was second fourteen times and third eleven times.
