Vivo introduced the X80 phones. Will they be an inspiration for Samsung?

The Chinese company Vivo is officially launching new X80 series mobile phones. So far in variants X80 and X80 Pro, where the latter can be considered in terms of parameters as a full-fledged flag model. Over time, the premium X80 Pro + is to be added, however, the mentioned Pro version also has great potential to attract attention. This is partly due to the fact that it is available with two different top chipsets – Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and MediaTek Dimensity 9000.

Parametry Vivo X80 Pro

  • 6,78″ 120Hz LTPO3 AMOLED displej
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Dimensity 9000 processor
  • cameras (with Zeiss optics)
    • 50Mpx main
    • 8Mpx telephoto periscope (5x optical zoom)
    • 12Mpx telephoto (2x optical zoom)
    • 48Mpx ultra wide
    • 32Mpx front
  • 4700mAh battery with 80W charging support
  • IP68
  • memory variants and prices (converted from yuan)
    • 8/256 GB for approx. CZK 19,000
    • 12/256 GB for approx. CZK 20,900
    • 12/512 GB for approx. CZK 23,300

The whole series is currently only available in China, but if it goes to foreign markets as well, it will be interesting to see which manufacturer chooses the strategy with regard to processors. It is possible that only variants with Snapdragon chipsets would go out into the world, which would be the opposite of the trend followed by the Korean Samsung. Its own and criticized Exynos processors power mobile phones in Europe, while on “home soil” and in other selected regions it sells models with Qualcomm units.

Of the last flagship mobile phones, Vivo has only the X60 Pro variant for sale in the Czech Republic, however, the brand has only been with us for a short time, so perhaps we will see the supply of other stronger pieces.

Which processor would you prefer?
