Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated Mario Draghi on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, Bertalan Havasi, Deputy Secretary of State for the Prime Minister’s Press Office, told MTI on Monday.

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, the year 2020 brought unexpected trials and extraordinary changes that posed the greatest threat to our most fundamental values: the security of our citizens and the stability of our countries.

He expressed his conviction that

“We can get out of the difficulties by being steeled, and by strengthening our nations we will be able to turn uncertainty into momentum.”

Viktor Orbán assured Mario Draghi that the Hungarian government remained committed to “both deepening our bilateral relations and strengthening our European cooperation based on mutual respect, whether it is the security, competitiveness or international advocacy of our continent,” Bertalan Havasi informed.
