The VF e35 from Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast is a compact SUV, which will be presented at the Los Angeles show and will compete with the Tesla Model Y.
VinFast is a young automobile brand of the Vingroup group founded by Pham Nhat Vuong, the first Vietnamese billionaire. If the manufacturer already offers a varied range in Vietnam, the conquest of the globe will be done above all with all new hybrid and 100% electric models, which will be offered in Europe and North America.
At the Los Angeles show, which will open its doors to the public from November 19 to 28, 2021, VinFast will present its large VF e36 SUV, as well as an intermediate model measuring 4.75 meters long: the VinFast VF e35, which will come directly to hunt on the lands of Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.4, in a market of 100% electric SUVs already very supplied.
VinFast VF e35: up to 408 hp
The model was announced at the start of the year as VF32, and although its detailed specifications have yet to be confirmed, two 100% electric motors should be there: a first version of 204 horsepower and 320 Nm torque, and a dual-motor version of 408 horsepower and 640 Nm torque, with a battery with a capacity of 90 kWh allowing around 400 km of autonomy.
Like its big brother VF e36, the style of the VF e35 is signed Pininfarina, with lines that are both fluid and sculpted, and always a light signature in full width in the shape of V. Inside, a large 15.4 inch touchscreen takes place in the center of the dashboard, and like its competitor from Tesla, it does not have a screen in front of the driver.
Driver assistance technologies are numerous, and allow a autonomous driving level 3 : there are no less than 14 cameras, LiDAR radars and 19 sensors all around the car.
In Europe, the model will be launched in 2022, and next year we will find the Vietnamese brand in its first French showroom, located in Paris in the Madeleine district. A partnership has also been concluded with EDF, in order to develop charging solutions and infrastructures for the brand’s customers.
