The McLaren team has a glorious history, but in the long list of its achievements there is something special: the so-called “Triple Crown”. Only McLaren can boast that its cars and its drivers have won three of the world’s most prestigious races – the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Next weekend, a race called the Monaco Grand Prix will take place for the 80th time on the classic urban circuit in the Mediterranean principality. It has been held since 1929, although there was no Formula 1 at that time.

On the same day, on the other side of the Atlantic, the famous Indy 500 race will take place at the Indianapolis Oval Circuit, and on June 10, the 24 Hours of Le Mans marathon, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, will start on the French Sarte circuit.

McLaren decided to celebrate all these events in a special way and shot a very nice short film dedicated to them. What happens in it in less than three and a half minutes of screen time is clear without translation.

We see how a certain elderly gentleman leads his granddaughter to the vault of motorsports relics, finds the right cell there and extracts an item of special value from there …

In general, see for yourself, it remains only to recall that in 1974, Johnny Rutherford won the Indy 500 in a McLaren 16C / D car. In 1995, Le Mans winners were Yannick Dalmas, Misanori Sekiya and Jay-Jay Lehto, who won the overall standings in a McLaren F1 GTR sports car. And in 1984, Alain Prost got the first victory for McLaren in Monaco – there were 15 such victories in the history of the team – four of them were on Prost’s account, and Ayrton Senna won this race five times.
