Urban green, the Ministry of the Environment is looking for ideas
The results of the consultation – explains the Ministry – will provide the basis for joint work and can be integrated into the annual report that the Committee will present to Parliament, which may also include regulatory proposals to be addressed to the government. In fact, the law assigns important study and guidance functions to the Committee for the policies in the urban green sectorsuch as monitoring the implementation of the laws on public and private green areas, promoting the activities of the local authorities concerned and presenting criteria and guidelines for the creation of green areas. The Committee, which has resumed its activities with the establishment of the new Government, makes use of the technical-administrative support of the Directorate General for Naturalistic and Sea Heritage (PNM) of MASE and ISPRA. In 2017 it defined the Guidelines for the sustainable development of urban green areas and in 2018 the National Strategy on urban green areas. He also contributed to the evaluation of first two tenders for urban forestation financed under the 2019 Climate Decree.
Today, the consultation is part of the framework of the numerous urban forestation activities of our territory and cities, necessary for the quality and wholesomeness of the environment, as well as for the health, including psychophysical, of the citizens.
