On September 22, the Chinese automaker Chery held a presentation of the updated crossover Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, and also announced the start of sales of the model in Russia.

Here the interior is already more cheerful, especially in the top configuration, with a fashionable 7 ”display of the digital dashboard, which in the initial configuration is replaced by a classic tidy. With a large, detached 10.25” HD media system screen and atmospheric backlighting with a choice of seven colors. The dual-zone climate control unit looks good, but it comes with full touch controls and is finished in gloss black, so it gets dirty and loses its appeal very quickly.
The media system of the updated Chery Tiggo 4 Pro supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay platforms, everything is wired only, but there is no standard navigation. A platform with wireless charging according to the Qi standard appeared on the central tunnel, and three USB-A connectors are available in all trim levels, excluding the initial one. Owners of Tiggo 4 Pro get at their disposal the Chery Connect telematics system, which makes it possible to access car data from a smartphone from anywhere in the world, as well as partially control it. For a surcharge, this system can be supplemented with a security complex. In the top-end configuration, the car is equipped with a surround view system that includes an assistant during maneuvers, like in older Chery models, but buyers of simple modifications will have to be content with only a rear-view camera.
The cabin is quite pleasant, the front seat is electrically adjustable, but it seemed to me too soft. There is not much space in the back, but I sat behind myself without much difficulty, only my knees practically reached the back of the front seat. There is no panoramic roof here, only in the Style package a small automatic sunroof is available in the front, closed with a mechanical shutter. It is strange that the manufacturer saved some pennies on trifles, for example, did not add reading lamps in the rear of the cabin, although he installed bright LED lamps in front, and also left a voluminous glove compartment without lighting.
The trunk of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is comparable to its competitors, its volume is 340 liters, and with the sofa backs unfolded it reaches 1100 liters. The tailgate, unfortunately, without an electric drive, even in the top version.
The car is available for sale with two variants of 1.5-liter engines, the first is a four-cylinder aspirated engine with a capacity of 113 hp, which is paired with either a five-speed manual or a CVT18 variator (7 virtual steps). The second, already turbocharged gasoline, also a four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 147 hp, which is available only in the version with a CVT25 variator (9 virtual steps). The manufacturer says that both engines are reliable, with cast iron cylinder blocks. Judging by the characteristics, with an aspirated crossover it will be very vegetable, 14.6 seconds to 100 km / h for the version with a CVT is quite sad. The turbocharged version is already more fun, it accelerates to 100 km / h in 9.7 seconds, according to the passport. The drive in all variants is only front, which is generally enough for an urban crossover. Ground clearance is quite decent for a crossover and is 190 mm.
The base Tiggo 4 Pro offers two frontal airbags, which, starting from the second configuration, are complemented by side airbags. According to the methodology of the Chinese organization C-NCAP, an analogue of the European Euro NCAP, the crossover received the highest safety rating – 5 stars.
The car is already available for order from dealers of the brand, the minimum price of Tiggo 4 Pro with a naturally aspirated engine and mechanics is 2,049,900 rubles, and the maximum price reaches 2,399,900 rubles. For all configurations, there are special discounts and offers from the manufacturer, when using which the Tiggo 4 Pro in the initial version of Action MT will cost 1,789,900 rubles, and the top version of Style – 2,139,900 rubles.
Competitors of the updated Chery Tiggo 4 Pro at the moment are also Chinese, these are Haval Jolion and Geely Coolray. All cars are offered plus or minus in the same trim levels, with similar characteristics and at about the same prices, the only thing that competitors, in my opinion, is a little more interesting in terms of exterior design. The Korean Hyundai Creta could also be listed as a competitor to the Tiggo 4 Pro, if not for the inflated prices for it from dealers, where it only starts at 2.5 million rubles, and direct sales at the RRP from the manufacturer are now unavailable.
