University Alumni will gift 2 buses to DU

Desk Report:: Dhaka University Alumni Association has announced to gift two new buses to the teachers and students of Dhaka University this year.

The president of the organization Anwar-ul-Alam Chowdhury made the announcement in the annual general meeting at the university’s Student-Teacher Center (TSC) auditorium on Saturday (May 27).

University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present as the chief guest on the occasion. The organization’s secretary general Molla Mohammad Abu Kawshar, former president Rakibuddin Ahmed, former secretary general Ranjan Karmkar and organizing secretary Sheikh Salahuddin Ahmed spoke on the occasion among others.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman wished the success of this annual general meeting and said that the alumni of Dhaka University have been playing an important role in the development and progress of the university. This organization is working with reputation by having transparency, accountability and democratic values.

Besides providing various support to the students, the Vice-Chancellor urged the alumni to establish a ‘Fundamental Research Fund’ to further the quality of education and research of the University.

In the event, a minute’s silence was observed and condolence was recited to pay respect to the memory of various famous personalities of the country and members of the association who passed away in the last year. Besides, the magazine published on the occasion of the annual general meeting, the report of 2022-2023 and the last year’s income-expenditure audit report were presented and discussed.
