The National Antarctic Science Center, along with 30 scientific organizations around the world, will model climate change in Antarctica and the Arctic.
This is stated in the message of the center Facebook.
Ukrainians will work together with scientists from the United States, Britain, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Germany, China, etc. The international project will cost almost 8 million euros, Ukraine will receive 132 thousand euros.
Polar explorers will, in particular, study the dynamics of atmospheric processes, melting glaciers, rising sea levels and acidification, which affects the formation of the regional polar climate.
The study will help scientists model different scenarios of polar climate change, which primarily depend on human activity.
As part of the project, the center will provide climate data from Academician Vernadsky for 4 years and will conduct its own analysis of atmospheric processes.
