Two more grain ships left the Ukrainian port

The Liberian-flagged ship Ocean Lion has left Chornomorsk, carrying almost 65,000 tons of corn to North Korea. The second ship under the Turkish flag, Rahmi Yagci, is to deliver over 5,000 tons of sunflower seeds to Istanbul.

Four other vessels are awaiting inspection at a joint coordination center in Istanbul, according to the Turkish ministry. This center oversees transport through the Black Sea Corridor and is supposed to ensure the safe export of grain from three Ukrainian ports in the context of ongoing fighting in Ukraine.

In the agreement, Russia has pledged not to attack ports during transit, and Ukraine ensures safe passage of ships through mined waters. Ukrainians are expected to export 20 million tons of grain, the absence of which on world markets would trigger a crisis situation in a number of countries. Since last week, over ten cargo vessels have sailed from Ukrainian shores.
