TWO LEGAL PROPOSALS FOR INCREASING ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Yesterday, two legislative proposals were presented in the Serbian Parliament, which are important for the energy sector and for increasing energy efficiency.

One envisages giving a state guarantee for the construction of the most modern system for the transmission of electricity, and the other enables the execution of works on increasing the energy efficiency of the MMA building in Belgrade.

When it comes to the Bill on granting a guarantee to Serbia in favor of the German Development Bank KfW, and on behalf of the Joint Stock Company ElektromreĹža Srbije, the guarantee is given in the amount of EUR 40 million, in the name of obligations from the Loan Agreement for the implementation of the Regional Energy Efficiency Program in the transmission system.

The regional program for energy efficiency in the transmission system was established to ensure the national energy security of the country and to replace the dilapidated network of lower voltage level, system of higher capacity and higher voltage level.

Regarding the Bill on Ratification of the Loan Agreement between Serbia and the German Development Bank for the project Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings and Renewable Energy Sources in the District Heating Sector – The value of the agreement is 50m euros, and the money will be used to improve the energy efficiency system of the MMA building in Belgrade.

The Military Medical Academy deviates from modern energy efficiency standards, and after almost four decades of work, buildings, technical installations and distribution systems require renovation, ie their improvement and certain construction interventions should be performed in order to enable energy savings.
