Two Latvian representatives reach the Grand Prix Challenge finals

On Saturday 19 June, four qualifying races took place to qualify for the 2022 World Grand Prix Series. Representatives of Latvia took part in two of them.

First race with participation Evgeniya Kostygova and Oleg Mikhailov took place in the Hungarian city of Naghalas. Evgeny Kostygov had an excellent race and took third place, which allowed him to qualify for the final round of the competition. Note that during the morning training session, Evgeny’s most combat engine scattered, and Evgeny ran a race on a motor from the command tuner Aivar Ruzha. Unfortunately, Oleg Mikhailov did not perform well enough, eventually taking the 9th line of the protocol.

Another race with the participation of Latvian athletes Andrzej Lebedev and Daniil Kolodinsky took place in the Croatian Gorichan. Andrzej failed only the first exit, in which he lost to Kolodzey and Brentzon. Then Andrzej won all his races and confidently took the second line in the final protocol. Kolodinsky did not bring a single zero, but in the final protocol he took 10th place.

Thus, in the final to be held in arnovice on August 21, two representatives of Latvia, Andrzej Lebedev and Evgeny Kostygov, will compete for three tickets to the Grand Prix 2022.
