Truck that could not slow down in Kocaeli hung on the bridge

In the accident that occurred on the Gebze-Şekerpınar Road in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, the Mercedes brand TIR with 41 YR 708 plate under the direction of Ayhan A. (40) crashed into the barriers of the bridge as a result of the driver going fast and could not turn.

The TIR, which escaped at the last moment from falling on the TEM Highway, hung on the bridge.

Those who saw the accident reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Aid teams. Upon the notice, firefighters, health and police teams were dispatched to the address. Police teams, who reached the address in a short time, closed the TEM Highway Istanbul direction to traffic in case the TIR could fall from where it was hanging.

Thereupon, firefighters started working to save the driver trapped in the TIR.

The firefighters, who went to the place where the truck was with the ladder vehicle, opened the door and took out the driver inside. The driver, who was brought down with the fire truck, was handed over to the medical teams.

The driver, whose first intervention was made at the scene, was then taken to the ambulance on a stretcher and taken to Gebze Fatih State Hospital to be treated.

The truck hanging on the bridge was rescued from the bridge with the help of a crane sent to the region. With the rescue of the TIR without falling on the TEM Highway, it was on the verge of the disaster.

After the danger passed, the TEM Highway was reopened to traffic. While it was learned that the driver, who was treated at the hospital, was not life-threatening, police teams launched an investigation into the accident.
