Director of the rehabilitation center of the First Moscow State Medical University. THEM. Sechenov, traumatologist-orthopedist, candidate of medical sciences Konstantin Ternovoy gave advice on safety measures during icy conditions.

“Falling on the street is often due to inattention. If a person got on ice, it means that he did not look under his feet. Most likely, he had a phone in his hand, and if so, then he would not have time to group either. When we fall, we automatically begin to group, that is, if we expect that we will fall, we group, if not, then we just fall, ”he said in an interview with Radio Sputnik.

According to him, when there is ice, you need to remove your smartphone and look under your feet.

Elderly people should be especially careful, as their risk of fractures is much higher, the expert added.
