Training on Web design for women from vulnerable groups

Despite the situation that the coronavirus pandemic brought us all to Association of Business Women of Serbia has found a way to implement the project online and offline “Economic empowerment of vulnerable groups of women through vocational training”, with advisory and financial support German organizations for international cooperation CHALK.

The project took place through free training which aim to support inclusion and economic empowerment and training of women for self-employment. The trainings are intended for Roma women and women from rural areas of Serbia, who also have difficult access to the labor market, and practically train them for very popular trades. The consumables used by the participants during the trainings were provided by the Association of Business Women of Serbia. After the online trainings, which were exceptional for theoretical knowledge, direct trainings are underway in Novi Sad, Vranjska Banja, Pirot and Belgrade, considering that most of the participants were from these places. In this final phase, women with lecturers / mentors live practice and practically apply all the knowledge acquired so far, followed by two more months of mentoring support.

In the first phase of the project, training o Creating websites with the basics of programming 10 Roma women (from Pirot, Nis, Belgrade, Smederevska Palanka and Osipaonica) graduated, extremely motivated to raise their existing computer skills to a higher level. The training was conducted online and was based on the WordPress platform, which was selected because of its ease of use. This platform is extremely popular because it also allows people who are not in the profession to create presentable web solutions. After completing the training, the participants had a mentor’s help for two months.

In the second phase of the project, a new group of participants had the opportunity to attend the training Basics of cosmetic treatments and preparation of preparations for face and body care. The topics of this training were introduction to the basics of anatomy, dermatology, cosmetology, hygiene and aromatherapy, determination of skin type, preparation of preparations for facial care at home, performing facial treatments and depilation with sugar paste.

The third phase of the project provided interested women from vulnerable groups with the opportunity to be educated in the field Catering and preparation of cakes and pastries. This training enabled them to get acquainted with the prerequisites for professional catering, from calculating the cost of materials, to price formation, but also the technique of preparing salty finger food, traditional and modern cakes and desserts, chocolate delicacies, fondant and cake decorating.
