A day-long training workshop on disaster management and firefighting organized by the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) platoon of Southern University was held on Sunday (November 8) at the university’s permanent campus Bayezid Arefin Nagar.
Under the direction of the Director General of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps, the workshop was organized to raise awareness on how to reduce the amount of damage in the face of natural and man-made disasters without being disturbed.
Vice Chancellor of Southern University Professor M Mohiuddin Chowdhury was the chief guest at the inaugural function of the training workshop organized in collaboration with Karnafuli Regiment.
Battalion Commander of 13 BNCC Battalion Captain Kazi Nazmul Huda acted as the trainer in the workshop.
The training workshop was organized under the overall supervision of Southern University BNCC Platoon Commander PUO Atiqur Rahman and Platoon in-charge Cadet Sergeant Shaharia Sultan.
Vice-Chancellor Prof M Mohiuddin Chowdhury handed over the certificates to the cadets who successfully completed the training in the day-long training workshop.
