Tracker app Mingle Sport launched with football

A ‘Strava for ball sports’, the Dutch app Mingle Sport, is live and focuses on football teams at the start.

Social football app allows anyone to create professional match reports and keep statistics. Spectators who film parts of the match can upload it to the app. Afterwards, all images are raked together and converted with AI into a dynamic match report.

In addition, those directly involved in a team, such as trainers, leaders or parents, also have access to chat and the match schedule. Furthermore, players can keep statistics, and trainers and coaches can easily organize the organization of teams.

Mingle Sport at the beginning of this year raised 1.75 million euros in a pre-seed investment round. Ultimately, the app aims to target a wide range of ball sports, including tennis, padel and basketball.

In Utrecht, a team of about 30 people is now working on the sports tracker, led by CEO Freek Bijl. The app relies heavily on machine learning, computer vision and AI. Where informal investors provided money, Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Nvidia participate in the form of ‘exchanges’. Mingle received tons of credits to spend on AI and cloud capacity.
