Just a few days ago, leaked information appeared on the Internet about the upcoming new installment of the Total War strategy series, according to which the new game will be subtitled Pharaoh and will introduce players to the environment of ancient Egypt. The developers from Creative Assembly decided to respond to these leaks by officially announcing the next installment today.
The new game is actually called Total War: Pharaoh, and in it, players will really immerse themselves in the fascinating world of ancient Egypt at the height of its power, where they will go through events that are a harbinger of its destruction.
Traditionally, one can expect vast real-time battles and administration of an empire, through which you will try to become the last powerful Egyptian pharaoh and face the imminent collapse of a well-known majestic civilization. Therefore, you will fight with raiders and with social disruption.
This time, not only enemy units are waiting for you on the battlefield, you also have to deal with changes in the weather, which will significantly affect the combat conditions. Such an arrival of torrential rain or sandstorm in a single moment can change the course of battle, as can a ravenous and dangerous fire.
On the available map you will find the centers not only of Egypt, but also of Canaan and Anatolia. In total, you’ll be able to choose from eight different leaders, each offering a slightly different approach to command and offering different units. In addition, a new function will arrive in the game, thanks to which you can adapt the campaign to your own model with the help of extended options. You can choose, for example, from random starting positions of factions, detailed settings of resources or turning off natural disasters.
The visual side should also shine, offering a vivid and colorful reconstruction of a fascinating time and location. Whether it is the banks of the Nile, the deserts of the Sinai Peninsula, or the rocks of Anatolia.
The exact release date has not yet been revealed. For now, therefore, you have to make do with the more general October 2023. The title will traditionally offer Czech localization in the form of subtitles.
The impatient and die-hards can pre-order Total War: Pharaoh on Steam and Epic right now. The leak was not wrong in this regard either, and three editions are available. In the standard version for 59.99 euros, you will find the base game, two pre-order cosmetic sets and weekend early access (more precise information about which we are yet to learn).
The more expensive deluxe edition, currently for 72.87 euros, will add the first DLC package of new factions and a digital soundtrack to the aforementioned. For €91.46 you get the Ultimate Edition, which includes all three faction packs and DLC with an additional campaign.
