They found that drinking 3 to 5 cups of espresso per day was “significantly linked to an increase in total cholesterol in both men and women. Cholesterol levels also increase in drinkers of coffee prepared in an Italian coffee maker or a French press, but this time from 6 cups per day.
Good news for filter coffee drinkers, on the other hand, because the cholesterol level only increases in women and not in men, also from 6 cups a day.
